In these very challenging times, our partners, friends and beloved Food and Beverage industry has been heavily impacted by the current economic situation. At l’Imperatrice, we feel very concerned by the personal situations of the staff members of these restaurants who have provided all of us such great hospitality and great memories.

At the initiative of Weingut KELLER - one of the best estates of GERMANY - we have decided to partner up with Julia and Klaus-Peter Keller and other winemakers such as Domaine MUGNERET-GIBOURG, Domaine ARNOUX LACHAUX, Domaine FELETTIG , Domaine Anne GROS , Domaine Cecile TREMBLAY and many others from BURGUNDY but also LOIRE VALLEY, ITALY, CHAMPAGNE to launch a wine bidding-auction with all proceeds from the sale to be donated towards the most affected team members of some of our dearest restaurants.

Weingut Keller will donate us beautifully crafted and hand-signed vineyard maps of their estate, just recently designed, to be auctioned alongside with one very special bottle: one MAGNUM of G-Max Riesling Trocken.
G-MAX, considered by many to be one of the world’s greatest dry Riesling, will be the highlight of the auction as magnums are not released commercially. So this is a unique opportunity to get hold of an incredibly rare wine and help Hong Kong’s struggling F&B community.

BELON
Chef: Daniel Calvert / Sommelier: Kevin HU
N.4 Asia 50 best restaurants
1* Michelin
Nickolle: The team of Belon must be one of the most hard-working and dedicated people I have ever seen in the industry! I went to Belon and I tasted their bread for the first and just thought it was the best bread I have ever eaten! When I asked the team where they were sourcing it and the waiter told me it was homemade, I couldn't believe it! It really shows how every detail at the restaurant is important for the guests who come to enjoy a real experience but as well for the staff and the pride they take from their craft

ARCANE &
CORNERSTONE
Chef & Owner: Shane Osborn / General Manager: Stefano Bartolomei
1* Michelin
Jessica C: Arcane is a my go-to place when I crave for simply yet fine European food, it is where I can take a pause in its botanical garden in the busy heart of Central with a glass of good wine, where I can enjoy top ingredients sourced and prepared by Chef Shane Osborn - if you are yet to discover his talent in his restaurants Arcane or Cornerstone (a recent establishment with very cozy environment where sharing plates are the focus) you can have a glimpse of him in the reality TV show “The Final Table”!

HAKU
Manager/Sommelier: Carlito Chiu

Vicky “I went to HAKU for my birthday. It’s very exciting and special as you sit at a counter and you can see the chef and his team working together, in a very calm way. They blend different cultures from Japanese to South America, where the chef comes from. They have one of the most interesting wine pairing I have ever tasted! Very thoughtful

LOUISE
Executive Chef: Franckelie Laloum
Sommelier: Marc Legallic
1* Michelin
Sally - The restaurant that you could stay in for the entire day! (make sure you order a few glasses of wines). To start with having lunch at the cosy outdoor area, situated in the garden of PMQ and overlooking the old district Sheung Wan; Ground-floor lounge is ideal for happy hour and chitter-chatter; Moving on to a romantic dinner date at the second-floor, an intimately chic colonial room. Unlike fine dining in Odette, the experience in LOUISE is much more casual and heart-warming.  The thing I enjoy the most is that they evoke the idea of a joyful family meal in bistronomic style. Unpretentious is essential as fine dining is no longer the trend in Hong Kong.More importantly, great wine and hospitality are guaranteed at LOUISE! Sommelier Marc and his knowledgeable team provide you the attentive service and suggestions as they did in France. PMQ, 35 Aberdeen St, Central. +852 2866-0300 @louise.hkg

ECRITURE
Chef: Maxime Gilbert
General Manager: Marc-Antoine Salvatore
2* Michelin

Jessica C - As a seafood person, I would pick Ecriture as my favorite restaurant without any doubt. Chef Maxime Gilbert has largely broadened my horizon of how fine French cuisine could go in terms of fish preparation. (given that I am very into Cantonese style of steamed fish as my dining inertia). Having a meal in Ecriture is a pure joy for me.. Not to mention the stunning setting against the backdrop of Hong Kong buildings and its all-white background.

VEA Restaurant and Lounge
Chef Founder: Vicky Cheng and
Sommelier: Alex Yim

Jessica C - I do believe people would appreciate even more when you share a similar cultural background - this is how I found Chef Vicky Cheng and his restaurant VEA. Finding his roots in Hong Kong, Vicky is educated and raised under western influences - he is probably one of the very successful locals dressing up the dried abalone, “ma yau’ fish, local periscope crab etc in the “haute couture” french sauces. Definitely giving one of the finest “East meets West” experiences in Hong Kong.

FRANCIS
Co-Owner/Manager: James Ward

Henry : “Going to a restaurant is almost like travelling as you discover a new cultures through the food being served. FRANCIS is serving incredible Middle-Eastern food and it really makes me want to go visit the countries in this region. The food is as amazing as the hospitality there; lively, joyful and with a true sense of sharing. A real invitation to open your mind to different cultures!”

INTERVAL
Bar Manager: Jacky Lun Siu

Zoe: “ I really like to go to Interval Coffee Bar at different times of the day: they serve great coffee, have an interesting wine selection and serve perfect bites and bigger dishes to be shared. The beautiful space is also very inviting to stay there the whole day. Since the recent events, they have changed the hours and I see less people going at different times…

PONDI
Owner-Manager: Camille Lisette Glass

Henry: “Pondi has opened very recently and is proposing a very interesting mix of cuisine, between French, Indian and a lot of personal influences. It has not been easy for them since their opening because of the recent events in HK but their hard work and their will to propose something different to the community makes it a very special place to me.

TA VIE
Manager: Hiromi Takano
Chef: Hideaki Sato

Sally - Everytime I walk into Ta Vie, Takano San is there offering warm greetings! You can expect her genuine hospitality already. and of course, their culinary philosophy is what keeps me revisit - natural ingredients and executing creativity with balance. I visit them at break time occasionally, Chef Hideaki Sato is working on preparation with passion, energy and pleasure. It is lovable to see the team filled with such positive vibes and which is what we need so much right now!

SUSHI TOKAMI 鮨とかみ
Operation Manager: Wesley Cheng

Sally - Sushi Tokami is located in a rather hidden location inside the busy mall of Harbour City with a fence of bamboo that marks the contrast between the two. I was attracted by its name because of its popularity in Ginza, Tokyo. The Omasaka prepared by Chef Shindo san is very extensive and and tuna trio is the highlight even though I am not very into this normally - but it is extremely creamy and fragrant, accentuated by a light dose of sweetness at the end. Exquisiteness and dedication are all I found in this dining experience.

CLUB QING
Owner: Kennis Ko
Manager: Jack Wu

Sally - Away from the bustling LKF there is nowhere else like Club Qing in Hong Kong, the best whisky & wine bar that serves quality drinks.  It resonates with the boutique and speakeasy bar hidden in Ebisu, Tokyo. Rather than picking from the menu, which the insider knows they have an impressive range of rare bottles, I would go for the recommendation made by Jack, our favourite sommelier.  Indulge in the soothing vibes and savor a special glass of wine, champagne or whisky, an evening escape from the busy life!

Why does the list of restaurants include these ones specifically and not other restaurants?

Hong Kong is blessed with many different restaurants which have, for some, a more personal link to each of us. As much as we would like to help every restaurant, we have decided to focus on small or medium size operations which are our partners, friends and where we have a special relationship with the people there and whom are affected the most by the economic situation.
